.......sweeping into Broome....
Having been free camping, it was time to do a few chores around the place. So, a bit of washing, cleaning and tidying, soon had everything back to normal.
We then took a tour around the town to get our bearings, and being a Sunday afternoon it we pretty quiet. We did stop for fuel again; this was our most expensive stop so far...at $2.29.... We left the servo a little over $270 poorer. It seems that everything in Broome comes at a premium price.
Today, Monday, is Western Australian Day, a public holiday, so another quiet day around town. It gave a quiet morning to visit the Tourist Info Centre, and to make some plans for the next couple of days.

We spent a quiet afternoon touring the town, then wandered along the famous Cable Beach We took some light refreshments at a beachside bar, and waited for the sunset......it didn't disappoint.
As you can see the sunsets at Cable Beach are magnificent......
On the downside...we are going to miss out on the Gibb River Road this time. The advice from authorities is that there are still a large number of road and camp closures. By the time we are ready to leave Broome, we cannot be certain that we will be able to get through or visit some of the attractions. (the smallest amount of rain could leave us stranded for up to a week)
So, discretion being the better part of valour.......
