...Dam(n)...

We arrived in Bunbury, about lunchtime Friday, parked the van and set up.   We had a brief drive around the area, a little shop for groceries, and tried to find our bearings.

The weather was warm (and dry!), today (Saturday we took a trip out to Wellington Dam, to view the largest dam mural in the world.  It is an impressive sight, and commemorates the immigrant dam builders, and the indiginious connection with the water.

...and no....it isn't a watercolour......

Low water levels...
In spite of the general greenness of the paddocks, the level of the dam tell another story, it has been a relatively dry season over here as well.

After a bbq lunch at the dam we toured into Collie, and had a look around, then we moved on to.......

Gmomesville!!    It seems that from one woman placing a single gnome at an intersection, every man and his dog thought it was a great idea....and followed suit.

Ther are thousands of the little buggers, grouped, placed and scattered throughout the bush at the side of the road.

Bev insisted that I take a pic of her next to this particular gnome display,  I thought...out of all the gnomes scattered aroung the place, why this particular group......

  Then I realised......

After a nice drive through the countryside we returned for a relax back at the van....
